Awards & Press Coverage
2017 brought another success at the Great Taste Awards - this time for our Quince & Star Anise Jelly. We are so pleased that another product made using home-grown ingredients from our orchard has been recognised as outstanding.
In 2016 we entered the Great Taste Awards for the first time, and are delighted to have been awarded two medals for our Bramley Apple & Mint Jelly and Red Gooseberry & Elderflower Preserve. This is particularly rewarding since the apples are from our orchard, the mint from our herb garden and the gooseberries from Red Hinnonmaki bushes I planted just 3 years ago!
"Great Taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, is the acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink. It has been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world and the ‘epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize’. Quite simply the Great Taste logo is the sign you can trust when buying food and drink in your local, quality retailer."
We are proud to announce that our Blood Orange & Passion Fruit Marmalade has just been awarded a Silver Medal in the artisan class at the prestigious 12th Dalemain "World's Original Marmalade Awards 2017". With record entries from around the globe, this Award proves that our marmalade really is world class!
This follows our successes in 2016 when our Spiced Clementine Marmalade and Orange & Lemon Marmalade won Bronze Medals, and 2015 when our Pink Grapefruit Marmalade won a Silver Medal.
"The quirky World’s Original Marmalade Awards were founded in 2005 to help to preserve, grow and widen one of the most British of customs – marmalade making.
"The Awards have humour and a life of their own and have inspired people from all over the world to get involved. In 2017, almost 3,000 jars of marmalade were sent from over 30 countries as far away as South Korea, Greece, USA, Australia and Japan, while the Artisan Marmalade competition has helped to promote small producers around the world. Judged by a small panel of experts, Dalemain roundels denote marmalade of exemplary quality."
